Save backup a Blogger blog

As seen in previous entries , there may be cases where, due to a substantial change that we plan available in our blog, it is convenient save a backup the same, if things go as expected and the blog just misconfigured.

Although not pretend to make significant changes to the blog, you should also make a backup periodically to prevent possible incidents beyond our control (the server is hacked , we unexpectedly removed the account, we lose our keys access, etc).

Blogger allows you to export both the blog content, ie the entries, as the template the same, namely, the design and content of gadgets.

To perform a full backup of your Blogger blog, follow these steps:

• Log in to your Blogger account with your username and password @ .
• Go to Settings section of your blog want to save. Within

• On page Export your blog, click on Download Blog . Do not worry, the blog will not be deleted.
• In the popup window, select Save File and click on OK .
• your blog content will be downloaded in an XML file to the folder on your PC that you specified as the destination for the downloads from your web browser.

• Within the Edit HTML tab , under Backup / Restore template, click on Download Full Template .
• In the popup window, select Save File and click on OK .
• The template of your blog (with their gadgets ) will be discharged in an XML file to the folder on your PC that you specified as the destination for the downloads from your web browser.

And you have the full backup of your blog made! Now just save the two XML files generated in a safe place to reach you (your PC, a flash drive, a CD-ROM, etc.)..

In the event of some misfortune and lose content and / or template in your blog, these are the steps you must take to restore from the backups you created earlier.

To retrieve the contents:

• From Settings> Basic> Blog Tools, click Import Blog .
• On the Import a blog, click on Browse .

• In the popup window, find the blog XML file in the folder where you saved, select it and click Open . Enter

• Automatically publish all imported posts if you want the blog you're importing is published immediately. If you prefer to import review before publishing, for errors, uncheck this box. Click
• Import Blog.

• The import process may take more or less depending on the volume of content that includes the XML file.
• When the process is completed, you will end up in the page Posting> Edit Posts , where you'll see a summary of the imported blog: posts, pages and comments.
• you must click on the option menu Imported Your Tickets , you'll see all the imported content that you post below if you had not done before.

To retrieve the template:

• From Layout> Edit HTML> Backup / Restore template, click on Browse .
• In the popup window, find XML file template (template ) in the folder where you saved, select it and click Open .

• Now click on Upload .
• If you see a warning that your new template does not include certain widgets (which is the same as the gadgets ), decide if you want to keep o Delete 's. Normally, widgets hold when we are simply changing the layout of the template, so we want to preserve gadgets and content. If we're going is a backup of our original template after the unwanted changes have occurred, then we can eliminate existing widgets. Blogger

And so we have the content and / or template of our blog restored!
